The Science Behind Cathodic Protection Systems

Something unique occurs when the rectifier discharges an electric flow, or current, to the metal. It leads to the metal getting charged negatively. The stuff is that it actually keeps the rust away when your metal would be negatively charged. The negative charge creates repulsion and drives the rust out, seeking positively charged states which are abundant in both water and air. That's cathodic protection at work protecting the metal

Impressed current cathodic protection is a form of net anode that relies on the use electricity to inhibit rust. You can use this way on the metal object in more than any manner especially big objects such as ships, bridges or storage tanks. While valuable (and often getting expensive medical supplies!), these items are of much importance to protect them from moisture.
