Iccp impressed current cathodic protection

Big time corrosion big issues make for Bridges, boats and pipes MILLISECONDS Rust can seriously weaken metal and result in costly repairs or unsafe conditions. Fortunately, there is a technology known as ICCP which can prevent the deterioration of such infrastructures via rust. Impressed current cathodic protection IC system is the backbone of our infrastructure

How does ICCP Provides Corrosion Protection? ICCP functions by implementing a tiny electric current to preserve the metal from rusting. This current is supplied by a rectifier, which operates more or less like a battery to power the protection process. This charge flows through a wire to an anode -- or special piece of metal The anode is a sacrificial metal (one that rusts more easily than the one you wish to protect). In case of an important metal, instead of rusting the anode gets dissolved before it. Current flows from anode to the metal that needs to be protected and then goes back through another wire, which connects it again with rectifier. It is this whole process that works to keep the metal strong and free of damage.

Ensuring Longevity and Integrity of Crucial Infrastructure

Rust is a common word used to describe metal combined with water and air. This catalytic reaction can lead to metal degradation and weakening over the years, a bad proposition for structures which we depend on. SME impressed current works as a protective booty between the metal to water or air, therefore preventing galvanic corrosion. This anode is then connected to a small electric current that will act as the stopper preventing metal from reacting with requirements around it. The anode is attached to the metal it's supposed to protect, and instead of having our valuable metals rust away — they use a sacrificial conductor: that metal then corrodes completely out before your precious resource does. This way, we can make our bridges last longer and keep a close eye on the health of boats and pipes.
